Monday, February 10, 2025 from 4:30 - 6:00 PM
Improv ($12): Unleash your creativity and quick-thinking skills in this fun and interactive workshop! Together, we will explore the fundamentals of improv, including spontaneity, character development, and teamwork. Through engaging games and exercises, participants will learn how to think on their feet, build confidence, and react authentically in unscripted scenes. This workshop is a great way to develop stage presence, embrace the unexpected, and most importantly—have fun!
Enhancing Your Character: Makeup ($12): Participants will learn how to apply makeup that enhances their character and ensures they stand out on stage. We will show different aspect of stage makeup, including special effects, aging techniques, basic stage application, and the three key methods for determining the right makeup style for their role. Through hands-on practice, participants will develop the skills to bring their characters to life with confidence!

Stage Combat ($12): Ready to feel like a real action star? In this fun and exciting workshop, you’ll learn how to safely throw stage slaps and create cool sound effects (knaps) to make fight scenes look real, while being SUPER safe! With hands-on practice, you’ll learn the secrets of stage fighting while working with partners in a safe and controlled environment. Perfect for young performers who love adventure and want to add some excitement to their acting skills!
Vocal Technique ($12): Join a few high school Madrigals in an exciting workshop of Vocal Technique tips and tricks!! Learn fun warmups, play musical games, and learn a song!! Solo opportunities will be available. All ranges of experience are accepted.

Acting for Beginners ($12): (Suggest 2nd-5th grade) Participants will learn the foundations of acting by playing fun improv games to foster creativity, teamwork and techniques before applying it to acting out a fun scene from the hit motion picture, Shrek.
Intro to Live Performance Theatre ($12): (For those who have acting experience - suggest 6th-9th grade) This engaging experience will give young performers a glimpse into the world of high school theater. Participants will dive into the performing process by playing fun improv games that encourage creativity and teamwork. Then, we’ll come together as a group to read through a script, allowing everyone to explore character dynamics and enhance their acting skills. This workshop is a fantastic opportunity for kids to learn from their peers, gain confidence, and discover the excitement of live performance!

Dance for Beginners ($12): (Beginning dancers - suggest 2nd - 5th grade) A dynamic workshop with engaging warm-ups to prepare your body, followed by practice of essential dance moves that focus on building strength, balance, and coordination. Perfect for beginners, this workshop offers a fun and supportive environment to explore the joy of dance. Get ready to express yourself and unleash your inner dancer!
Advanced Dance ($12): (For those who have dance experience - suggest 6th-9th grade) This workshop blends movement and storytelling to bring popular musical numbers to life. Participants will explore how to express emotion, character and narrative through dance. Through guided exercises and performance techniques, students will develop confidence in both acting and dance, enhancing their stage presence and ability to connect with an audience.

Children's Theatre ($18): In this fun-filled session, kids will learn CT's staple dance "I Believe," a vibrant piece that celebrates creativity and expression. After mastering the dance, our directors will divide the participants into small groups, where they’ll collaborate to create their own skits, showcasing their unique talents and ideas. To kick things off, we'll also play engaging improv games designed to help everyone feel comfortable and confident with each other. This workshop is a fantastic opportunity for children to explore their imagination, develop teamwork skills, and most importantly, have a blast!
Technical Theatre ($15): (For 4th grade and up) Participants will take a tour of the Rocket Centre, receive basic technical training on our boards, and create a piece that will be used in our upcoming production Shrek the Musical.

Shrek the Musical Theatre Workshop ($18): Step into the world of Shrek the Musical in this high-energy workshop where students will sing, dance, and act their way to becoming a triple threat! Taught by our Shrek the Musical lead performers, participants will learn choreography, vocal techniques, and acting skills while performing a song from the hit musical. Through engaging exercises and guided instruction, participants will develop confidence, stage presence, and a deeper understanding of musical theatre. Perfect for aspiring performers who want to bring larger-than-life characters to the stage, this workshop is a fun and immersive way to build skills in singing, dancing, and acting—all while embracing the magic of Shrek’s whimsical world!

Broadway Cubs: “I Just Can't Wait To Be King” ($12): (For 2nd-5th grade) Join us for a fun and energetic workshop where students will learn to sing and dance to "I Just Can’t Wait to Be King" from The Lion King. Through choreography and vocal exercises, participants will develop confidence, rhythm, and stage presence while bringing this beloved song to life. Perfect for young performers who love to move, sing, and shine! No prior experience necessary—just come ready to have fun!
Rio Rhythms: Sing, Dance & Act ($12): (For 6th-9th grade) Get ready to sing, dance, and act in this high-energy workshop inspired by the blockbuster movie Rio! This workshop will help you build confidence while learning fun choreography, vocal techniques, and expressive acting skills. You'll help bring the vibrant world of Rio to life! No matter your experience level, this workshop is the perfect way to shine and develop your musical theatre talents.
